WELCOME TO THE GALAXY BREWING COMPANY
The Galaxy Brewing Company was founded in 2011 by a local father and son brewing team who are dedicated to producing the finest craft beers and excellent food, using as much locally sourced products as possible.
Galaxy is located at 41 Court Street, Binghamton, NY 13901, in the heart of the historic downtown area. Close to the Veterans Memorial Arena and NYSEG Stadium, we are proud to be part of the efforts to revitalize downtown Binghamton, and participate in both the Spring and Fall Restaurant Week.
Beer is important to us-it is a family tradition-and we take great pride in producing great tasting beers. There are always 12 GALAXY beers on draft, and on Fridays we tap a traditional cask conditioned ale. Our beers range from our signature Andromeda IPA to Kopernik Kolsch, a light, refreshing beer, to PANIC!, a Russian Imperial Stout aged in whiskey barrels. The cask conditioned ale changes every week, and has included IPAs dry hopped with experimental hops, a chipotle porter, and a basil infused ESB. Our beers are constantly changing, so see what is on tap now or check out our Facebook page. We’ve brewed a lot of great beers, so you will just have to keep coming back, or you will miss some of the best beers in the Galaxy. See a detailed description of all of our beers here.
Great beer requires great food, and our Culinary Institute of America trained Chef de Cuisine will not disappoint you. Many of our dishes incorporate our beers in the recipes, and we can help you pair a great beer with your meal. Like our beers, the menu is constantly changing to reflect the best ingredients available to us, so check out our menu or visit us on Facebook to see our current menu offerings and Specials.
DON’T LIKE BEER?!!:
Well, some people just don’t like beer, and while we think you are missing the best part of your Galaxy experience, DON’T PANIC!, we have a full service bar, including house wines, a great cellar list, and a wide selection of liquors.
Every Thursday night about 9:30, Empty Pocket Productions brings a new, local group to perform on the stage. Performers have included Milkweed, Lutheran Skirts, Clare Byrne, and a host of other great groups. Click on the link to Facebook to see what groups are going to perform at Galaxy in the future. For booking information, contact Empty Pocket Productions.
When we brew beer, we are left with spent grains, and like any restaurant, we have lots of vegetable waste from the preparation of the food we serve. Instead of sending this to the landfill, we give it to a farmer, who feeds it to his pigs and cows. We will soon be offering pork and beef on our menu that were fed with our spent grains and vegetable waste.
WHO WE ARE:
It takes a group of dedicated, highly skilled people to make great beer, great food, and a great place. Our team includes:
- Seth Weisel, Owner/Brewmaster, a Diplomate, Institute of Brewers and Distillers
- Mike Weisel, Owner, Chief Beer Taster, and The Old Man
- Brian Loveski, Chef de Cuisine, Culinary Institute of America
- Bethany Menc, Manager and Operations Guru
- Joseph O’Neil, Assistant Brewer
- Ted Hissin, Empty Pocket Productions
Most importantly, a great crew of bartenders, wait staff, cooks and kitchen staff.
DON’T LIVE IN BINGHAMTON, AND WANT TO TRY OUR BEERS?
We are sorry you do not live in Binghamton, so you can come to the Galaxy all the time. Binghamton is cold and snowy in the Winter, one of the least sunny places in the United States, and one of the most depressed city’s in the US. But we don’t believe in all those stupid surveys, this is the “Valley of Opportunity”, and we are the grittiest group of people you will ever meet. We love it here, and wouldn’t move if we could. While we think it is worth the trip, you can currently find our beers in some great bars in New York City, Syracuse, Rochester, and Buffalo. You won’t get the atmosphere or the great food, but one out of three isn’t too bad. It is hard to keep up with where our beers are actually being served, but click on the link to Facebook to see where our beers have been served, and check out their web sites. Cans are also coming later this year.
Like us on Facebook to get the latest information on what is going on at Galaxy, and try our mobile web page on your smartphone. If you have an up to date copy, you can also check us out in the Hitchhikers Guide (Don’t have a copy? Ask Mike).
